Well my Final Four of Hate was one for the ages. In the first matchup on Saturday, Skip Bayless came out firing and took a 10-point lead into the half against the #1 overall seed. But the Police were just too much down the stretch and ended up pulling out a 3-point win, ending Bayless' Cinderella run just a game short of the finals. On the other side of the bracket Lena Dunham's impressive tournament continued as she rolled passed Kevin Gilbride with ease, setting up a battle of #1's in the final game.The championship game was a back and forth affair, much like Louisville-Michigan, with each team seemingly throwing knock out blows, only to have their opponent come back with an impressive run of their own. In the end, the fact that I have recently received tickets for drinking on the beach, speeding, texting while driving AND talking on my phone while driving was just too much for Lena Dunham's nakedness (despite never dieting or exercising) to overcome. Congratulations and Fuck You to the Police who are the first ever back-to-back champions in the history of the Hate Bracket.
No surprises in the Midwest or South as #1 seeds Police and Lena Dunham have absolutely torn through their regions and seem destined to clash in the Championship Game. Meanwhile, Cinderella #13 seed Skip Bayless has done his best Wichita State impression advancing from the West. Skip squeaked out back-to-back close games over #1 seed Whoever Bangs Kate Upton and then a 3OT thriller against Work to punch a ticket to Atlanta. Rounding out the Final Four is, NY Giants offensive coordinator and 3rd & long draw lover, Kevin Glibride. KG blew out Eagles fans before hitting a buzzer beater against Meter Maids in the Elite 8. Only one more weekend of akshun remains before a Champion is crowned!
