I think the LADOT chose to name this weekend's highway closures "Carmageddon" because they figured making people think of the movie Armageddon would express just how shitty it was going to be if you try driving...And because calling it Car-Every-Jennifer-Lopez-movie just doesn't have the same ring to it.
